Orientation & Business Practice & Reports Introduction
to the company, the Home Inspection business, the Real estate industry, and
professional practice. Qualities of good inspectors, qualities of good
examinations and inspections, general inspection practice requirements, and the
fiduciary like role of the inspector and goals of the course are explained. Introduce
the product, the report, as an organized professional document with specific
expectations. N.A.R.I.E.S. format for report writing and guidelines will be
introduced.
Subject (2) Building Inspection & Mold in the Home Introduction to theories of inspection including modeling, mind and eye coordination, formats and general procedures for a professional inspection practice. Application of N.A.R.I.E.S. Standards of Practice will be introduced. An extensive mold program and its problems for home Inspectors with direction to further opportunities in the mold inspection business is presented.

This syllabus is a theoretical guide. Some subjects are covered in one session making the program (21) class sessions over (26) weeks.
Weeks (27) through (52): This (26) week period includes computer skills and word processing skills suitable for office and field work. These weeks challenge the student to write all reports in the narrative style, typical in business and law. This method of writing covers structured opinion writing for several groups of people including consumers, businesses, and the legal community for use in litigation or for various claims and requests. The student will continue forward with their inspections and writing narrative reports. They receive focused instruction on the computer, and mentoring their report writing skills. The student shall write a complete narrative home inspection report while reviewing each inspection module. (See the modules)
